What does the San Joaquin County Family Child Care Association have to offer "you!"
Fellowship:
By getting acquainted with other providers throughout the county and discussing similar interests, problems, joys, and rewards of child care. The SJCFCCA is a support network with information for everyone.
Meeting:
General membership meetings are held the second Tuesday of each month from 7p.m. to 9p.m. All licensed providers are welcome to attend! Programs and speakers on subjects of interest may include: Tax information, crafts, nutrition, child behavior, legislation, disputes, contracts, and subsidized child care. Certificates of attendance are available if you're a member! Meetings are held at Family Resource and Referral Center: 509 W. Weber Ave., Suite 103 Stockton, CA.
Referrals:
The Association has a free referral system to help keep member's businesses filled to capacity. Call our toll free number for more information.
Website:
The website is a great tool for communication informing providers of upcoming events, current legislation, tips on child care, nutrition regulations, committee updates and general information concerning child care. Parents looking for child care can also use the website for referrals.
Affiliations:
The SJCFCCA is just one of the many county associations that form the California Association for Family Child Care (CAFCC) and the National Association for Family Child Care (NAFCC) which in turn represents child care providers on the state and national issues pertaining to our child care businesses.
Purpose:
To promote the professional status of child care providers by providing on-going training for better business practices and improvement of provider/community relationships.
To promote the best child care possible for the community by supporting and participating in workshops, trainings, and ECE classes with our state and local organizations and agencies.
To establish and maintain relations between child care providers, parents, and The Department of Social Services.
Legislation:
We keep informed on state and federal legislation affecting children and our child care operations. Through letters and phone calls we have proven our united voice is strong with our elected officials.
Community Involvement:
Join members assisting in community enrichment. Our efforts include workshops, community functions, and community outreaches. If you are interested in helping out in any of the following areas, please contact an officer and sign up for any position available:

Education:
The SJCFCCA keeps members informed of education opportunities from our local agencies to further early childhood education. By offering workshops and informational meetings, the SJCFCCA helps members to keep up to date with current laws.
